  Two persons, including one from Leh and another from Kargil, were on Satrday tested positive for Coronavirus, taking the total number of infected people to four.

 

Meanwhile, 16 patients, who were tested positive for COVID-19, were discharged from hospital after they were successfully treated.

 

Ladakh Spokesperson, Commissioner Secretary, Rigzin Samphel on Saturday said results of 150 samples were received today of which two new positive cases were reported in the Union Territory. “One of them is from Botktag in Leh while another is from Sanku in Kargil,” he added.

 

He said the patient from Kargil has a travel history of Iran while the second person has a travel history of Gujarat. “Family members of both the persons have been quarantined. And arrangements are being made to bring Kargil resident and his family to Leh,” he added.

 

He said contact tracing has been initiated in both the areas.

 

As many as 487 Iran returned pilgrims have arrived in Ladakh during this week in special Indian Air Force (IAF) flights after completing their quarantine period in different parts of the country.
