Centre has cleared the elevation of three Senior Superintendent of Police to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. 

Sources privy to the development told that three IPS officers of of 2009 batch Imtiaz Ismail Parray, Shailendra Kumar Mishra and Rahul Malik's name have been cleared for the post of Deputy Inspector General.

At present Imtiaz Ismail Parray is posted as SSP Crime Kashmir, Shailendra Kumar Mishra is posted as SSP Kathua, Jammu and Rahul Malik is posted as SSP Bandipura, Kashmir.

Sources also told that Shailendra Kumar Mishra is likely to be handed over the charge of Jammu Kathua Samba range which is vacant after the transfer of IPS Bhim Sen Tuti to the Union Territory of Ladakh.

While Imtiaz Ismail Parray is likely to be posted as Deputy Inspector General of Central Kashmir. At present the charge of DIG Central Kashmir is with DIG North Kashmir Suleman Choudhary. The additional charge was given to DIG North Kashmir Suleman Choudhary earlier this year when Vidhi Kumar Birdi, the then DIG of Central Kashmir, went on to Central deputation to join the National Investigation Agency.

Sources also told that 1991 batch IPS officer RR Swain has also returned from Central deputation. Sivas empanelled by the union government to hold ADGP rank earlier this year and is likely to be posted either as ADGP CID or ADGP Headquarters Jammu and Kashmir.

Sources also told that one ADGP rank officer posted in Jammu and Kashmir is likely to to leave for Central deputation to New Delhi in coming days.
