In a massive drive against bovine smuggling, Jammu Police has rescued 30 bovine animals at three different nakas i.e 18 bovine animals while on Khugga naka under the jurisdiction of PS Akhnoor, 01 bovine animal at Naka Ban Toll Plaza Nagrota under the jurisdiction of PS Nagrota and 11 bovine animals at a naka point Nadal Manwal Teh Dansal and Distt Jammu apprehended under the jurisdiction of PS Jhajjar Kotli.
In this regard three different cases i.e Case FIR No. 196/2022 U/s 279/188/34 IPC, 11PCA Act , 50,52,54,56 Transportation of Animal Act 1978 got registered at P/S Akhnoor, Case FIR no.278/2022 U/S 188/IPC,11 PCA Act got registered at P/S Nagrota and a case FIR U/S 188 IPC,11 PCA Act,11/12/13 Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Transportation of Animals on Foot) Rules 2001got registered at PS Jhajjar Kotli and accused got arrested.
The accused arrested have been identified as:-
1) Mohd Hanief S/o Shukar Din R/o Tharar Balli Nallah District Udhampur, by PS Akhnoor.
2) Mohd Farooq S/o Chirag Din R/o Balli Nallah District Udhampur, PS Akhnoor.
3) Alam Din S/o Shafi Mohd R/o Laswara Jammu, by PS Nagrota.
4) Manhor lal sharma S/o Ramkishan sharma R/o madira teh samba disst Samba, by PS Jhajjar Kotli.
5) Tarlok chand S/o.Pars Ram R/o parnot teh & District Ramban, PS Jhajjar Kotli.
The overall arrest and recoveries were made by SHO P/S Akhnoor Inspr. Hilal Azhar and SHO P/S Nagrota Vishav Partap Singh and I/C PP Manwal PSI Ayub Khan under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial and SDPO Nagrota Sunil Singh respectively.
Further investigation of the cases is going on.
District Police Jammu is striving hard and taking every possible step to curb the bovine smuggling menace. District Police Jammu is seeking support from the people to share information about bovine smuggling with police for timely intervention for the cause.
