Association of Karate Jammu and Kashmir has organised 4th UT level karate Championship 2023 at Bhagwati Nagar Indoor sports complex In Jammu which shall continue for 2 days. The championship has been organised in the memory of Late Sh. Prem Nath Gupta and more than 200 contestants from various parts of UT of J&K are participating in the championship. The events have been divided based on the age and weight of the contestants.
Dr. Dushyant Chaudhary, Governor Rotary Club J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab was the Chief Guest on the opening ceremony of the tournament while Sh. KK Gupta, Dr. B.S Bhatia Principal Rajouri college were the Guests of Honour.
During the opening ceremony , the contestants showed their karate skills and the guests were apprised of the fact that Karate is a form of self defence and helps in physical and mental development of the children.
Smt. Swaran Gupta eldest daughter of Sh. Prem Nath Gupta , Sh. Jaswant Rai Gupta, Sh. Ashok Gupta, Sh. Vinod Gupta, Smt Arti Rajinder Gupta, Neeraj Gupta and Arit Gupta who are family members of Sh. Prem Nath Gupta in whose memory the tournament has been organised were also present on the occasion.
The championship is being presided over by Sushil kumar, Haib Singh and Ankit Jaglan from Haryana while Kuljeet Singh Jamwal, President J&K Association of Karate, Amit Singh Black belt 4th Dan, Sensei Vikas Dhar, Sensei Abhimanyu charak are looking after the overall arrangement of the championship.
