PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday hit out at Congress for demanding the resignation of Delhi Deputy CM and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia after CBI raids. Having been a victim themselves of the ED onslaught, Congress is joining BJP's propaganda, she said.
A day after the raids, Delhi Congress workers staged a protest on Saturday demanding Sisodia's resignation for his alleged involvement in the liquor policy scam.
Taking to Twitter, Mufti said, "Sad that Congress is unable to rise above party interests because AAP is a formidable opponent. Having been a victim themselves of ED onslaught, yet they are joining BJP's propaganda."
"At a time when agencies are being weaponised, the Opposition should’ve rallied together," she added.
Afte nearly 15 hours of raids, the probe agency CBI on Friday seized Manish Sisodia's computer and mobile phone and also took away some files. The CBI has registered a case against 15 others, including Sisodia, and has alleged that liquor traders paid crores to Sisodia's aides, who in turn diverted the funds to public servants involved in the formulation of Excise Policy.
Meanwhile, Sisodia and his party have alleged that the Centre was misusing the agency to stop the Arvind Kejriwal government from "doing good work" in Delhi.
