Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rishpal Singh, todayconvened a meeting of officers of various departments to review thearrangements being put in place for celebration of Navratri festival at BahuFort Temple.

Threadbare discussion was held on various issues includingsanitation, uninterrupted electricity, ensuring regular and safe drinkingwater, security arrangements, traffic management, medical facilities,decoration, fire wood and check on the rates and quality of food items.

Emphasizing on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in andaround the temples, ADC directed the concerned departments to promote messageon sanitation and also install dustbins to maintain cleanliness in and aroundthe temple. He also asked the officers to create awareness among the peopleagainst Single Use Plastic and strictly implement the rules regarding the samebesides taking initiatives to make the temple area ‘no plastic zone’.

He asked the Police authorities to provide adequate securityarrangements. He called for interdepartmental coordination and impressed uponfunctionaries of concerned departments to put in place all necessaryarrangement well in time for smooth celebration of the festival.

He asked the PHE Department to ensure uninterrupted watersupply and also instructed Power Department to ensure proper lightingarrangements in addition to un-interrupted power supply throughout thefestival.

ADC directed the Traffic authorities to ensure propermanagement of traffic during the event and place proper signboards forconvenience of the devotees. He asked the concerned authorities to keep checkon rates and quality of food items being sold during the festival. HealthDepartment was directed to keep sufficient provision for medicare for thevisitors.

Joint Director Handloom Development Department Jammu KantaDevi Rukwal, SP South Vinay Sharma, SDM South Shrikant Suse and senior officersof the concerned department were present in the meeting.
