Assembly elections will be held soon in the Union Territoryof Jammu and Kashmir. Making this announcement, Lt. Governor GC Murmu said thatalong with the central rule in Jammu and Kashmir, J&K will have its ownassembly and the process of electing a people's representative will start soon.He was addressing police personnel at Police Training Center Talwara in MurmuDistrict Reasi.

Praising the functioning of the Jammu and Kashmir Police,the Lieutenant Governor said that the police is doing a great job to root outterrorism in the state. Its soldiers are making sure the safety of the peopleregardless of their lives. Whatever responsibility was assigned to the policepersonnel, they never backed down.

Soon an important responsibility will be placed on theshoulders of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and it will be to conduct assemblyelections in the state peacefully.

The Lieutenant Governor told the police personnel that theywill play an important role in these elections, so they should start preparingfor it now. He said that it also indicated that the process of holdingelections has started. Soon the general public will be informed in this regard.
