Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of J&K Kavinder Gupta on Thursday asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will continue to hold power in Gujarat because the people are more than satisfied with the working of the party's government.

Addressing a series of public meetings under BJP’s ‘Carpet Bombing’ programme, the BJP stalwart from J&K maintained that saffron party will further strengthen its seat tally in the forthcoming election in Gujarat as the party leadership has set the target of over 150 constituencies. He said that presently BJP is reigning at 127 seats but the working model of its government which many other states and UTs are following to ensure good governance will fetch more seats for the party and it is likely that BJP’s graph will become more impressive after the ensuing polls in one of the most rich states of the country.

The former J&K Deputy Chief Minister said that looking into the present scenario in Gujarat where opposition is nowhere in sight, it is likely that the party will sweep the polls and come out with flying colours because it has lots of plus points to showcase to people to garner support unlike the opposition, which is sodden with scams and deception, and is feeling shy to come before the electorate to seek votes.

Kavinder said that on one side the people have an opposition with a blotted and murky past and on the other it is BJP, which has in its credit the honour of making the country a Vishvaguru and a strong nation militarily, economically and of course politically as well. He said that people are in favour of making a double engine government in Gujarat which has the potential to steer the state to skies of development and progress.

“They would never go for the parties like Congress and the AAP, which are known for the scams, dynastic politics and for being opportunists”, Kavinder said, adding that the best option before the people of Gujarat is BJP, as it has a clean record and stellar performance in the last so many years.
