Court verdict in Rassana case hailed, people resent police apathy

JAMMU , June 11: People from all walks of life have hailed the court verdict in Rassana rape and murder of an eight year old nomadic girl soon after six persons accused in gruesome crime were convicted by the Pathankot Court the other day, people have expressed hope over the judiciary, demanding exemplary punishment to the guilty.

While accused in the case have been sent behind the bars by the court yet a grave resentment has been brewing against the working of local police which has failed to discharge their duties in a professional manner and the chargesheet they had filed involving Vishal Jangotra son of Sanji Ram falsely as a main accused in the case.

While talking to a cross section of people it was learnt that police implicated Vishal Jangotra son of Sanji Ram as main accused in rape and murder of a minor nomadic girl of Rassana village in Kathua in the chargesheet filed before the court of law.

Police claimed that Vishal was very much present at the crime scene and committed the heinous act on the minor girl.

But the court verdict which gave a clean chit to Vishal On the evidence that he was at that point of time withdrawing money from an ATM Muzaffarnagar in UP where he was a student in a technical college.

On the basis of cctv footage produced by a reputed national news channel which showed that Vishal was withdrawing money from an ATM in Muzaffarnagar in UP a million dollar question raises against the working of local police as how it named Vishal Jangotra as main accused in rape and murder case of a minor nomadic girl of Rassana.

Implicating a student in such a gruesome act and role played by the local police in trapping him in the false case has sent shock waves in the society.But the judiciary and law has takenĺ its own course and set free an innocent .

The people on social media including Facebook and Twitter here have welcomed the court verdict, terming it as a victory of truth
