The number of Covid-19 cases crossed 800-mark in Jammu and Kashmir after thirty more people tested positive the deadly disease on Friday, said officials.

“Thirty new cases have been reported from Kashmir in the last 24 hours,” the officials said adding that twenty patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals.

Of fresh cases, 15 were reported from Budgam, eight from Kulgam, three each from Srinagar, Ganderbal and one from Baramulla.

The total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir has now risen to 823.

Of the total number of cases reported so far, 755 are from Kashmir and 68 from Jammu. Nine people (Eight In Kashmir and one In Jammu) have died and 364 patients (310 from Kashmir and 54 from Jammu) have recovered. The number of active cases stands at 450 (437 in Kashmir and 13 in Jammu).

More than 88,000 people have been kept under surveillance including those who are either in government established quarantine facilities or in home isolation.
