KISHTWAR, July 4: District Development Commissioner ( DDC)Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana today convened a meeting of concern district officers and finalizes arrangements for upcoming Annual holy Machail Matayatra.

Addditonal District Development Commissioner (ADDC)Kishtwar, Mohd. Hanief Malik, Addl. SP Kishtwar Nasir Ahmed, Joint Director Planning Mohd. Iqbal, ACD Kishtwar, Anil Kumar Chandail, SDM Paddar Varunjeet Charak, XEN PMGSY, XEN PDD, XEN PHE, Tehsildars, District and Sectoral Officers besides members of Sarv Shakti Sevak Sanstha, J&K  participated in the meeting.

The DDC undertook detailed discussions with regard to arrangements to be made by the different departments /agencies to ensure hassle free yatra commencing from July 25, 2019 to 5th of September 2019.The DDC exhorted upon the concerned departments to ensure availability of potable drinking water, electricity, fire wood, telecommunication services, mobile banking facilities, toilet facility,foolproof security, transport, and other essential  commodities.

ACD Kishtwar and AD Employment were directed to install hoardings along route of Yatra from Jammu to Machail at suitable places.

Besides, SDM Paddar was directed to ensure over all supervision and monitoring of cleanliness enroute from Gulabgarh to Machaila long with active coordination of Police department and asked him to ensurestrict implementaion of blanket ban on use of polythene.

In addition to this SDM Padder was directed to install dustbins at specific places enroute Kundail to Machail besides suitable places at Gulabgarh.

In order to check overloading in commercial vehicles during the Yatra period, DDC asked the Police, Traffic department, ARTO Kishtwar besides concerned Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar to keep strict vigil over the over loading and take strict action against the defaulters.

DDC further informed that this year airfare for Machail Yatra 2019 has been fixed at Rs. 2,270 from Gulabgarh to Machail, Rs. 4, 000from Kishtwar to Gulabgarh  and the said fare rate is for a one way journey per passanger (inclusive of taxes) also including for children above 2 years to 12 years of age and below age of 2 years will not be charged.
