Director General of Police Shri Dilbag Singh today visitedNorth Kashmir districts of Kupwara and Handwara. He took a review of thesecurity scenario in these districts. DGP was accompanied by IGP Kashmir ShriS.P Pani and DIG North Kashmir Range Baramulla Shri M Suleman Choudhary.
Shri Dilbag Singh interacted with the Army officers, CRPFofficers and district jurisdictional police officers during his visit. Hecommended the collective efforts of J&K Police and security forces formaintaining peace and order in these districts. He said that all officers andjawans are doing a commendable job in the fight against terrorism and ourefforts will continue with enhanced coordination among the forces. He said thatintelligence gathering should be strengthened to curb the activities of theelements inimical to peace.
DGP J&K thanked the Central government and the Hon’bleGovernor’s administration for their generous support to the J&K Police byenhancing the honorarium of SPOs and ration money/hardship allowances for thepolice personnel. He said that the gesture will boost the morale of the forceto work with more commitment and dedication for the service of the nation. ShriDilbag Singh said that continuous initiatives taken for welfare and functioningof State Police to serve the people better.
During these meetings the DGP emphasized that Police Publicmeetings should be conducted on regular basis. He said that people’scooperation in the fight against drugs and other crimes is must and the policewill act tough against the people indulging in the illicit trade of drugs. Hedirected jurisdictional officers to seek people’s cooperation in the fightagainst drug abuse and other social crimes.
At Kupwara the meeting was attended by SSP Kupwara ShriShriram Ambarkar, Commandant IRP 4th Bn. Shri Abrar Choudhary, ASP Kupwara ShriMir Ifroz, Dy.SP Hqr. Shri Mohd. Yaseer, Dy.SP PC Shri Fayaz Ahmad and Dy.SP(DAR) Shri Javeed Ahmad. At Handwara the meeting was attended by SSP HandwaraShri Ashish Kumar Mishra, CO 21 RR Shri Ashutosh Sharma, CO 92 Bn. CRPF ShriDeepak Kumar, Dy.SP (Ops) Handwara Shri Fariz Hussain, Dy.SP (Ops)Magam/Kralgund Shri Sahil Sharma, SDPO Handwara Shri Tariq Mehmood and Dy.SP(DAR) Shri Farooq Ahmed.
