A person was killed after a dumper rolled down into a 400ft deep gorge near Chamalwas in Banihal area of Ramban district in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.
A police official said the driver of the dumper was critically injured in the mishap following which he was shifted to sub-district hospital Banihal where he was declared dead on arrival.
The deceased was identified as Reyaz Ahmad Lohar (35), son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Lohar, a resident of Chamalwas Banihal.
The dumper was involved in the highway construction work.
