the city police has arrested one drug peddler with contraband of poppy straw in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir,Police spokesperson said here on Thursday.
He further said that team of Police Station Hiranagar on Wednesday during patrolling duty on National Highway near Baneda intercepte done person namely Liyakat Ali of Chann Morian, Tehsil Hiranagar, District Kathua.
On seeing Police Party, the drug peddler tried to fled away but was arrested and three kilograms of poppy straw was seized from his.
A case was registered and further investigation was underway, he added.
