A team of Railway Police on Monday evening arrested two drug peddlers with contraband of cannabis here at Jammu Tawi Railway Station.
“On the directions of SSP Railways Muhamamd Irshad, our team with SHO Railways Vinod Kunda was on routine patrol duty,” DySP Anita Pawar, SDPO Railways here said.
She said that on finding two persons suspicious, they were intercepted, adding, “during search, 800 grams of cannabis (ganja) was recovered from their possession”.
The arrested persons were identified as Amit Kumar,21, son of Jai Ram, resident of Saheb Gandh, Jharkhand, presently living in Sector 9, Trikuta Nagar and Prem Prabhakar,19, resident of District Munger, Bihar, presently living in Nanak Nagar.
A case under FIR Number 6, under 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered and investigation started, added the SDPO Railways.
