Drugs worth Crores recovered in Udhampur

J&K Police of Udhampur district recovered 203 Kilogram of Poppy Straw & 15 grams of heroine (CHITTA) at Udhampur, 04 narcotic smuggler arrested in two different cases

Udhampur police today recovered 203 Kilogram of Poppy Straw of poppy straw and 15 grms of Heroine (Chitta) from narcotic smugglers at Chenani and Udhampur here today.

Reports said that Police on a tip off laid a naka at Motorshed, NHW, Chenani for frequent checking of vehicles. During naka checking, one Mahindra bolero bearing registration No. PB08 DS-2877 was signaled to stop for checking. Instead of stopping the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle broke the barriers and attempted to flee with the vehicle from the spot. The vehicle was chased by the police party and was intercepted at Champari. During thorough search of vehicle *203 kg* of poppy straw were recovered from the vehicle. The accused driver of the vehicle namely *Jagdev Singh S/O Kuldeep Singh R/O Bhundri, Ludhiana alongwith Balkar Singh S/O Kashmir Singh R/O Sangowal, Jalandhar* were arrested on spot. Case FIR No. 43/2019 U/S 2019 NDPS stands registered at PS Chenani .

In another case, Police party of PS Udhampur laid a naka near forest office main Bazar, Udhampur for surprise checking of vehicles. During naka checking, police party of PS Udhampur intercepted one car bearing registration no. HR26 AN 7715 which was stopped for checking. During search of said vehicle, *15 gms of heroine* (Chitta) was recovered from two narcotic smugglers identified as Niklesh S/O Anand Kumar R/O Bus Stand, Udhampur and Vikas Thakur S/O Joginder Singh R/O Omara Morh, Udhampur were arrested and recovered heroine was seized. 01 associate smuggler fled away from the spot by taking the advantage of traffic on road. The involved vehicle was also seized.

In this connection, a Case FIR no. 179/2019 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Udhampur

With this consignments, Udhampur Police succeeded in the recovery of *793.6 kgs of Poppy straw and 372.3 grms of Heroine (Chitta) during the year 2019*
