Voting to elect Maharashtra and Haryana assemblies was held on Monday, The voting in the two states took place from 7 am till 6 pm. In the assembly polls, the BJP and its allies are seeking to retain power, while the opposition is hoping to turn the tide by taking advantage of any anti-incumbency. Bypolls were also held to 51 assembly seats and two Lok Sabha constituencies spread across 18 states. In Maharashtra, the 'Mahayuti' alliance of BJP, Shiv Sena and smaller parties is against the 'Maha-agadhi' led by the Congress and the NCP. The ruling BJP is locked in a contest with the opposition Congress and the fledgling JJP for the 90 assembly seats in Haryana. Tight security arrangements were made with deployment of more than three lakh personnel from state police and central forces in Maharashtra, while over 75,000 security personnel have been mobilised in Haryana. Counting of votes will be on October 24. As per the official ECI data, Haryana has recorded a polling percentage of 67.97 per cent, while 55.33% voting was recorded in Maharashtra.

NDTV in its polls of Polls projected that In Haryana, the BJP is likely to win 66 of 90 seats, predicts the polls of polls, and the Congress is likely to win 14.

NDTV's 'poll of polls' predicts the BJP and Shiv Sena alliance will win 211 seats in Maharashtra, the Congress-NCP alliance 64 seats, and other parties 13. The half-way mark is 145. 
News18-Ipsos exit poll predicts the BJP will win 75 seats in Haryana, Congress 10, Dushyant Chautala's Jannayak Janata Party 2 and other parties 3. The half-way mark in the state assembly is 46.
News18-Ipsos exit poll predicts the BJP and Shiv Sena alliance will win 243 seats in Maharashtra. BJP will get 141 seats and Shiv Sena 102, says the poll. Shiv Sena appears to improving its tally since 2014 when it won just 63 seats. 
Most TV exit polls predict comfortable victories for the BJP and its allies in Maharashtra and Haryana.
