Putting an end to the controversy erupted in the NPP in the wake of Prof.Bhim Singh meeting some leaders of Gupkar alliance and the resultant crises, the senior party leadership today said that the issue has been sorted out amicably after verifying the factual position. As per the report given by a fact finding committee constituted by the party headed by Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia, President and comprising Mr. Gagan Pratap Singh, Capt. Anil Gour both Secretaries and Mr. Surinder Chouhan District President Jammu (Rural), Prof.Bhim Singh’s visit was purely personal and not connected in any way with Gupkar declaration. And accordingly it was decided that Prof.Bhim Singh shall continue to hold the position of Chief Patron of the Party. The announcement was made by Mr. Balwant Mankotia in a press conference today.
Addressing media persons, Mr. Mankotia said that Panthers Party had already opposed the Gupkar declaration and this stand of the party had been duly conveyed even by Prof.Bhim Singh through the local media. He said that a purely personal meet was blown out of proportion by a section of media which had created confusion not only amongst the general public amongst the general public but the rank and file of the party as well. He said that Prof.Bhim Singh had also made statements in the media dispelling all doubts and making it amply clear that no compromise whatsoever could ever be made with the national interest or with the cause of Jammu region which the party considers most sacrosanct. He said that in view of the findings of the committee and the gargantuan contributions made by Prof.Bhim Singh, it was unanimously decided that the status quo ante shall be restored.
Flaying certain opposition parties for trying to defame the leadership of Panthers Party, Mr. Gagan Pratap Singh said that their insidious machinations shall not be allowed to succeed. The NPP shall expose the evil designs of its opponents who were unnerved by the growing popularity of the party and thus trying to cause dissensions in it through false propaganda and vitriolic attacks against its leadership. These parties shall never succeed in their nefarious designs, said the NPP leaders.
Prominent among others who participated in the Press Conference included Capt. Anil Gour State Secretary--JKNPP, Mr. Surinder Chouhan District President Jammu (Rural), S. Mohinder Pal Pandu, Mr. Gurdeep Singh Rajju Youth Secretary Jammu (Urban) besides others.
