Government forces on Sunday evening launched a cordon and search operation in Makkad Pora area of Aarwani in District Kulgam.
Sources informed the journal press a joint team of government forces including RR, and SOG cordoned off all the roads leading to the Makkad Pora area of Aarwani in District Kulgam.
Sources informed the journal press that the cordon-and-search operation launched in the area after receiving input about presence of militants in the area.
He said door to door search operation was initiated and all the entry and exit points of the village have been sealed.
Local sources told that huge contingents of forces have been deployed in the area and there was no exchange of gunfire when this report was being filed.(TJP)
