In Jammu and Kashmir, Holi Played in Jamm u region in a high-spirited way to mark the beginning of the harvesting of the summer crop, with the throwing of coloured water and powder and singing and dancing.

Lt Governor Girish Chandra Murmu on Sunday greeted people ahead of Holi, the festival of colours.

In his message, Murmu observed that the celebration of festivals, a valuable part of the rich cultural heritage, strengthens the bonds of brotherhood and amity.

He expressed hope that Holi, which heralds the advent of spring, will spread happiness and joy all around and promote communal harmony.

Wishing a happy Holi to the people, Murmu prayed for their well-being, prosperity and peace.

Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar has extended wishes to people of Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of auspicious occasion of Holi festival.

Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, today extended greetings to people of Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of festival of colours ‘Holi’.
