National Conference Chief Farooq Abdullah, in a sensationalclaim, accused the Central government of wanting to kill him.
He said, "As soon as the gate will open and our peoplewill be out, we will fight, we'll go to the court. We're not gun-runners,grenade-throwers, stone-throwers, we believe in peaceful resolutions. They wantto murder us. My son (Omar Abdullah) is in jail."
He added, "Home Ministry is lying in the Parliamentthat I'm not house-arrested, that I am staying inside my house at my ownwill."Meanwhile, his son Omar Abdullah, along with other prominent leaderssuch as Mehbooba Mufti, is also under arrest. They were earlier put under housearrest before the Government announced its move on Article 370, which gavespecial status to Jammu and Kashmir.However, on Tuesday, Home Minister AmitShah said in Lok Sabha that National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah has notbeen arrested as alleged by some opposition leaders.
Shah said, "I have made it clear thrice, FarooqAbdullah ji is at his home, he is not under house arrest, he is not underdetention. He is in good health, mauj-masti mein hain, unko nahi ana hai tohgun kanpatti par rakh kar bahar nahi la sakte hum [If he doesn't want to comeout, we can't force him at gun point]."
On Monday, the Modi government scrapped Article 370 of theConstitution that granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir.The Centre alsomoved a bill to bifurcate Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories ofLadakh and Jammu and Kashmir.
