A constable deployed with security wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday night killed his wife, mother-in-law and father-in-law with his service weapon (AK-47 assault rifle) at Phallian Mandal area falling under the jurisdiction of Satwari Police Station.
As per the details, an information was received at Police Post Mandal Phallian that constable Rajinder Kumar alias Ravi, son of Madan Lal, resident of Gajansoo, fired upon his wife and in-laws identified as Seema Devi (wife), Romesh Kumar(father-in-law) and Raj Kumari (mother-in-law) at their home in Allora village of Phallain Mandal with his service weapon.
His mother-in-law died on the spot whileas both father-in-law and his wife succumbed to injuries at GMC Jammu. Acting swiftly a police with active assistance from locals arrested the accused from Gajansoo area. His service weapon along with 51 rounds has also been seized.
“He came and offered sweets on the pretext of his promotion,” told Seema’s paternal uncle, adding that later the accused fired with his assault rifle killing his wife, mother-in-law and father in law.
The couple with two kids was having estranged relations, told Seema’s relatives to reporters at GMC Jammu. After committing crime, the accused constable went to his house at Gajansoo. SDPO Domana DySP Kousheen Koul conducted a raid on late Tuesday night and arrested him.
Family members of the victims told media that the accused constable is attached with a senior advocate as PSO. However, it was learnt that following his misconduct and suspicious activities, the senior advocate had got him disengaged two years ago. Further investigation of the case is going on, police said.
