The Indian Army on Thursday will brief the 25 foreign envoys, currently in Jammu and Kashmir, about the security situation in the region.

The envoys are scheduled to visit Jammu today (February 13)where they will hold meetings with Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir, along with the Lieutenant Governor, district administration officials and civil society members of Jammu division.

The group consists of representatives from Afghanistan,Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, theEuropean Union, France, Germany, Republic of Guinea, Hungary, Italy, Kenya,Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Namibia, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Rwanda,Slovakia, Tajikistan, Uganda and Uzbekistan.

Earlier on Wednesday, they visited Kashmir and interacted with representatives of civil society, local business and political leaders,and representatives of mainstream media.

Last month a delegation of envoys from 15 countries visited J&K to see first-hand efforts made by the government in the region after Article 370’s abrogation.

The delegation had arrived in Jammu and Kashmir on January 9 and had also met political leaders and senior army officials in Srinagar to review the government's efforts to bring normalcy in the valley since the abrogation of Article 370.
