Jammu, July 06, 2020: Placement cell, University of Jammu organized second web lecture on career planning in business and management under JU Web Lecture series on career planning. Prof. Manoj Kumar Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion. While addressing the students and staff, he congratulated Prof Vinay Chauhan, Dean Student Placement for taking up this important initiative in the present times by providing a platform for nurturing professional acumen of the young budding professionals which represented the students of department of The Business School and the students of MBA program from the ICccR&HRM, Kathua campus and Bhaderwah campus. While expressing the gratitude to the resource person, he also urged the students to take the benefits of these interactions in their career preparedness to be globally competitive to grab the opportunities in the present competitive era.
The resource person for the web talk was Mr. Vishal Bhardwaj from Mr Cooper Dallas TX USA, who has more than 20 years of corporate work experience in Business Analysis and Business IT Consulting space and has worked with many esteemed organizations in India and US Financial Industry like JP Morgan Chase, Wachovia Bank, Capital One, TD Bank, Citi Bank NA, & BB&T Bank, GE Finance, Nucleus Software, Hewlett Packard. While interacting with the students he discussed the dynamics of working in the global corporate environment. He also highlighted the challenges and opportunities for the management professionals, while giving some key indicators for achieving professional excellence. In the Q&A session, he motivated the students to write their own success stories for which he narrated his own experiences of coming from a small city and moving to the Texas ,USA.
Earlier, Prof. Vinay Chauhan, Dean, Student Placement and convenor of the event presented a welcome address and introduced the speaker. He shared that this web lecture series is an initiative to provide professional guidance towards the carrier planning of the students during this pandemic. He further apprised that there are many more lectures of different streams, which are planned in near future.
Dr. Shubhnandan S. Jamwal, Secretary of the program moderated and hosted the event including the Q&A session, wherein all the queries raised by the students were addressed by the expert. Dr Shellika presented the concluding remarks along with the vote of thanks while Dr. Isha sharma Asst. Professor, ICccR&HRM; Dr. Rohit Bhagat Asst. Professor Bhaderwah Campus, Dr Jyoti Sharma Asst. Professor Kathua Campus attended the lecture. Ms Shilpa Handoo, training and placement officer provided the technical and logistic support for this event.
