Jugal Kishore MP reviews status of ongoing NABARD projects

Jugal Kishore Sharma,Member of Parliament Lok Sabha Jammu Poonch Constituency called on Shri R K Srivastava, CGM NABARD, to discuss the status of ongoing NABARD projects/activities, in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir particularly in his constituency.

Team NABARD extended him a warm welcome and briefed him about the activities of NABARD in the UT.

CGM informed him that a major function of NABARD in the UT is to provide loan to the UT government for transforming rural infrastructure. CGM informed that so far NABARD has sanctioned 3785 projects with an amount of Rs. 6,821 crores in Jammu and Kashmir against which UT government has availed assistance of Rs. 5700 crores.During the last 5 years, 226projects amounting to Rs 581.19 crore has been sanctioned in his constituency.

He further informed that NABARD provides refinance assistance to banks and highlighted that this year NABARD also funded Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank to develop rural infrastructure to upgrade the agriculture sector which may not get adversely affected due to COVID-19.

CGM also highlighted the collaboration with SKUAST- Jammu and Srinagar for transfer of technologies to farmers for addressing the issues faced by them. He highlighted few good projects NABARD has sanctioned like hydroponics-based fodder & vegetable cultivation, creation of Bee- village in Reasi District and high density of cultivation of Saffron in Kishtwar and Pulwama.

During the discussions, Member of Parliament also enquired about the implementation of Central Sector Scheme and their benefits in rural areas , Shri Surender Singh, GM informed that the empanelment of CBBOs is under process and around 46 FPOs will be promoted.

Discussions were also held on the following on-going projects sanctioned in his constituency with the promotion of FPO's each in Jammu & Samba district.DPR mode projects are currently under implementation in Jammu & Samba district.Climate Change project sanctioned under NAFCC in Bhalwal block of Jammu district.Watershed project under WDF in Rajouri District.SDPs on Medical and Nursing Healthcare Assistance & Plumbing and Sanitation in Samba District and SDP on Incense sticks making Waste to wealth in Jammu District.SHG/JLG projects in Jammu, Samba, Rajouri & Poonch district.LEDP on Dress Designing & MEDP on Kitchen Garden in Samba District.

Jugal Kishore Sharma , Member of Parliament appreciated the efforts made by NABARD in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and said that the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji is committed on the agenda of Sabka Sath Sabka Vikaas and Sabka Vishwaas and working on the target to double the income of farmers.He said that Modi Government has launched various schemes to uplift agriculture sector and NABARD also playing a great role.He appealed the officers and staff to work within their best deeds to serve agriculture and rural sector which is the backbone of Nation.
