Parts ofMumbai continued to receive heavy rains along with gusty winds of upto 70 kmphfor the second consecutive day on Wednesday. According to the officials, normallife was thrown out of gear while suburban train services were disrupted due tothe heavy downpour. Parts of south Mumbai like Churchgate, Marine Lines, MarineDrive, Kalbadevi, Dongri, Byculla, Mazagaon, Parel, Dadar and surroundingswitnessed heavy waterlogging, throwing the central business district out ofgear, they said.
Commentingon the Mumbai rains, CR spokesperson Shivaji Sutar said, "Central Railway(CR) suburban train services were suspended between Chhatrapati Shivaji MaharajTerminus (CSMT) and Kurla on the mainline and CSMT and Vashi on the HarbourLine after the heavy downpour."
Similarly,Western Railway spokesperson Sumit Thakur said that owing to heavy rains, somesuburban trains were suspended and all trains were reversed from MumbaiCentral, Dadar, Bandra and Andheri. Mumbai rains cause damage, traffic movementaffected

Somesections of a cement cladding adorning the exteriors of the Jaslok Hospital insouth Mumbai were blown off and fell in pieces on the road below, but there wereno reports of any casualties.

In someareas in south Mumbai, Kandivali, Dahisar, Kurla, Parel, Dadar, Wadala andSion, water rushed into ground-floor homes, shops or offices as incessant rainscontinued all day, and the subways in Dahisar, Malad and Andheri were flooded,preventing east-west movement of traffic.
