Declaring that there is no threat to “ Zar, Zameen and Jungle” of people in Jammu and Kashmir, Union minister for Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Thursday expressed confidence that Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) will perform well with the support of the people in the District Development Council (DDC) elections, being held for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir after Independence.
There is absolutely no threat to Zar, Zameen and Jungle in the Jammu and Kashmir, Mr Naqvi assured the people of Union Territory (UT).
When asked why the members of Gujjar and Bakerwals are being uprooted from forests after several decades, he said nobody will be displaced.
To another question why the Forest Protection Act was not being implemented in J&K which guarantee safe guard to these communities, he said it will be implemented.
He said BJP believes in Sab Ka Saath, Vishwas and Vikas. Our religions is humanity and nationalism, he said.
Expressing confidence that BJP will do well in the DDC elections being held for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir since Independence, he said people of the Jammu and Kashmir have full faith in the party.
“ You will recall that after the abrogation of Article 370 BJP performed well in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development (LAHDC), Leh, elections and got the majority, Mr Naqvi told a press conference in the frontier district today.
However, he said there is conspiracy by the Gupkar Declaration parties to create fear among the people of J&K. Taking a dig at Congress, Mr Naqvi said Congress is still in confusion—they still say yes and no—to Gupkar declaration. However, he said, they (Cong) has been caught in their own web. Despite saying no no they (Cong) is still with Gupkar declaration, he added.
He said Gupkar Declaration believes in dynasty and destructive politics. They donot like independent and transparent political process that is why they are now indulging in conspiracies.
In reply to a question Mr Naqvi said political process in the country and J&K has started. However, due to dynasty rule it was not transparent and independent J&K in, he said.
Infact transparent and independent political process should have been started alongwith the other parts of the country. But in J&K it was missing, he said adding these dynasty political parties never encouraged independent political process. Without naming National Conference(NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he said these parties boycotted the election and said until Article 370 is returned back they will not contest any polls. Now when they realize this is not possible, they are participating in DDC election as they cannot remain without power for long, he alleged.
About the allegation that non BJP candidates, contesting DDC polls are not being provided security, the Union Minister said anyone who needs will be provided proper security. Infact security is being provided to everyone, he said.
In reply to a question he said nobody will be allowed to destabilize the country. Our reply to enemies has built the confidence of people of the country and now PDP, NC and Congress are trying to weaken it which will never be allowed.
He said now the Gupkar declaration parties are saying that there will be violence which will never happen as people in the J&K believe in peace.
