Pakistan's Seema Haider had entered India through Nepal to be with her lover Sachin Meena, who she met virtually in 2019 while playing the online game PUBG. She came to India in May along with her four children. India Today learnt that she faked her identity to book the bus tickets from Nepal's Pokhara. The couple, along with Sachin's father, were arrested on July 4 after authorities learnt that she was living illegally in Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida.

The authorities accused Seema of illegally entering India, while Sachin and his father were charged with assisting her. However, the trio were released on bail three days later, with restrictions on Seema's travel and address changes.
