Reiterating appeal to people to stay indoor, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Aijaz Asad on Thursday said that even though the lockdown will start from 1900 hrs this evening, deluge of calls, messages and deputations are seeking curfew passes.
To break the chain and prevent further spread of COVID-19, a complete 84-hour-long lock-down will commence from 1900 hrs this evening and conclude on 0700 hrs on Monday in Srinagar, where 951 fresh cases of COVID-19 positive were reported on Wednesday.
Mr Asad taking to micro-blogging site Twitter said, “Deluge of calls/messages & deputations at office for Curfew passes even before a #Lockdown comes into force from 7:00 pm today. I appeal everyone again to pl stay indoors.”
“Ensuring Essential services is my duty. Leave that to me. Let’s #BreakTheChain #StriveForSafeSrinagar”, the tweet said.
