 In a significant development, the police conducted a successful raid on Sunday at a hotel in Srinagar, apprehending several ex-militants and members associated with the Hurriyat.
The were reportedly holding a clandestine meeting with the intention of reviving the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and Hurriyat.
Acting on credible information, the Srinagar police initiated the search operation, leading to the detention of the individuals involved.
They were subsequently taken to the Kothibagh Police Station for further verification and questioning. The preliminary inquiry indicates that their objective was to resurrect both the JKLF and Hurriyat.
In a tweet, the Srinagar police confirmed the operation, stating, "A search was conducted on the basis of credible information about a meeting involving former members of JKLF and erstwhile separatists in a hotel in Srinagar. They were brought to Kothibagh Police Station for verification. The inquiry has commenced, and prima facie evidence suggests that they were planning to revive JKLF and Hurriyat."
