Udhampur Police has registered an FIR against Facebook Page running at Ramnagar for revealing the identity of a minor rape victim who has been allegedly raped by her father. The name of the Facebook page is Media-1 Ramnagar.
The contents of the FIR reveal that the Facebook page not only revealed the identity of the rape victim but also asked inappropriate questions revealing the details of the rape incident and thereby caused mental trauma to the victim.
The father of the Rape victim has been arrested and Police is proceeding in the matter as per law. The Supreme Court of India has passed clear directives that identity of the Rape victim should not be revealed by the media under any circumstances.
On earlier occasion also the Police and Court have asked people to refrain from revealing the true identity of the Rape victim as it creates problem in investigation.
