Policeman martyred in a Terrorist attack at Srinagar

A policeman was martyred when militants fired at him in the summer capital, Srinagar, on Thursday.

Official sources said that unidentified militants fired at a police constable, Javaid Ahmad, near his residence in Saidapora Eidgah in downtown Srinagar tonight. “The injured was immediately taken to S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Soura, where he reportedly succumbed,” they said.

They said the militants managed to escape from the spot, adding security forces have been rushed to the area and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers.
