Rahul Bhat's killing was targeted, said Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha. He also said that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) will probe the incident from all angles. This was reported by news agency  on Sunday, May 15.
The SIT will also probe the use of force to disperse Kashmiri migrant protestors in the aftermath of the incident, said the LG.
Two foreign terrorists involved in the killing have been shot down by the police in an encounter. Directions have been given to the administration to not use force anywhere, said Manoj Sinha.
This statement comes after a delegation of state BJP leaders and the Gupkar alliance, separately, met with LG Manoj Sinha today. State BJP president Ravinder Raina said Rahul Bhat’s murder had maligned humanity and brought shame to the whole society. Raina said that Rahul was “brutally” murdered by Pakistani-sponsored terrorists.
While the BJP leaders met with the LG to discuss security-related issues, the Gupkar alliance raised the issue of the security of minority communities.
Kashmiri Pandit Rahul Bhat, a government employee, was shot down by terrorists at the Tehsildar office in Chadoora on Thursday, May 14.
The very next day, Constable Riyaz Ahmad Thokar was shot in Gudoora in the same district. He succumbed to his injuries.
Two days after the killing of Rahu Bhat, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that the shooting was targeted and that the SIT is probing the case from all angles.
