Rich tributes were on Saturday paid to CRPF constable Shyamal Kumar Dey who attained martyrdom in a militant attack at Bijbehara in south Kashmir district of Anantnag on Friday.

A minor boy was also martyred in the attack which was carried out by the militants of Islamic State (IS) as per police FIR.

Inspector Generals (IG) of CRPF P K Pandey and police Vijay Kumar and other senior security force officers paid floral tributes to Dey.

A CRPF spokesman said the wreath laying of Dey was held at RTC Srinagar today.

He said MrPandey, IG Srinagar Sector CRPF and senior officers of CRPF, BSF and SSB and Police laid floral wreaths and paid rich tributes to the martyr.

IG Police Kashmir Kumar along with other officers and jawans also paid floral #tributes to brave heart of CRPF who attained martyrdom yesterday. May the soul rest in peace, they prayed.

A defence ministry spokesman said that Chinar Corps pays tribute to Constable Dey of CRPF who made supreme sacrifice at Bijbehara,

He said death of 4-year-old in the firing is highly condemnable. Deepest condolences to the bereaved families.
