All schools will reopen on Monday after winter vacation in the Kashmir valley, an official spokesman said on Saturday evening.
Director School Education Kashmir, Mohammad Younis Malik said that all arrangements have been put in place to reopen schools on February 24 after winter break.
He said that the timing for the schools falling within the Srinagar’s municipal limits will be 1000 hrs to 1500 hrs while in rest of Kashmir division timing will be 1030 hrs to 1530 hrs.
Malik was speaking at a high level meeting convened here today urged the teachers to work with dedication for building capacities of the students for their better future. He said that last year students proved their metal and now it is our responsibility to extend our support to them and redouble efforts to get their syllabus completed well in time.
The field Officers were instructed to visit schools regularly to monitor the follow up of academic planner for timely accomplishment of set targets.
It may be recalled that all educational institutions were closed in the Kashmir valley on August 5, when centre abrogated special status of the state and divided it into two Union Territories (UTs). Later after government announced reopening of educational institutions but the students stayed away. Students however,appeared in examinations before the winter break was announced.
