Security forces on Saturday evening launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in south Kashmir district of Kulgam, official sources said.
They said troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint search operation at Khudwani, Kulgam,following a tip off about the presence of militants.
All exitpoints were sealed and searches launched, they said adding so far no contact was established with the militants.
Meanwhile,additional security force and police personnel have been deployed in the adjacent areas to prevent any demonstration. Further details are awaite.
