Spontaneous shutdown is being observed in several parts of Valley in wake of the shutdown call announced by Itehadul Muslimeen against rape of 3-year old girl in Sumbal.
Eyewitness said that shops and business establishments are closed in various parts of Valley while as traffic is off roads as well.
Reports stated that protests also erupted in Saida Kadal area of Srinagar city and other parts of Valley.
Protestors are demanding action against the accused in rape incident who is already in Police custody.
Locals from old parts of Srinagar said that heavy deployment of forces has been made in old city parts to thwart any law and order situation.
