The Srinagar-Leh highway was temporarily closed for trafficon Thursday due to landslides at several places, triggered by rains. Reportssaid that traffic on Srinagar-Leh road has been closed due to landslides atdifferent places near Zojila pass.They said that a large number of vehiclesincluding those carrying essentials for Ladakh region were stranded on bothsides of the highway.
“The Border Roads Organisation pressed in service its menand machines and launched clearance operation to reopen the road for traffic,”a police official told Kashmir Life.He said that nearly 150 passengers mostlytourists who were stranded on the highway were rescued.
