Special Judge NIA Jammu Sunit Gupta today granted 10 days police remand of two namely Mubashir Ahmed Batt S/0 Farooq Ahmed Batt R/O Sazan Tehsil & District Doda and Toqeer Ahmed Batt S/O Ghulam Qadir Bhat R/o Sazan Tehsil & District Doda who were arrested by the SOG in terror funding module of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT)outfit having connections in Pakistan. Today Dy SP of SOG filed application seeking ten days police remand. Special Judge NIA Sunit Gupta after perusal of CD file reveals that accused no. 1 namely Mubashir Ahmed Batt was arrested in the present case since 19th July 2020 and accused no. 2 namely Toqeer Ahmed Bat thas been arrested by the 10 today on 22nd July 2020, in the case vide FIR No.42/2020 P/S Peer Mitha for the offences under sections 17/18/20/21/38 & 40UA(P) Act. From the perusal of the CD file, it is further reveals that the allegations against the accused persons are well substantiated but since the investigation is at its initial stage, therefore, further interrogation of the aforesaid accused persons is genuinely required by the Court observed that the presence of the accused persons has been secured through virtual mode and do not find any kind of external injury on their face or body. The accused persons are found to be medically examined by the medical officer today, itself and the medical certificate in this regard is also form the part of CD file . The accused persons have been duly conveyed with regard to their legal rights.Hence, the petition is allowed and the accused persons are remanded to the police custody for ten days and they shall be produced before this court on 1st August 2020.
It is worthwhile to mention here that On a specific information developed by Jammu Police, SOG Jammu and Army have busted a terror funding module of the Lashkar-e-Toiba.
Input (received through reliable source) revealed that banned Terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) has activated a module of its members for carrying out terror activities in J&K particularly inthe Jammu region and in furtherance to this, a delivery of funds was to take place in Jammu. On this information, a team of SOG Jammu and Peer Mitha Police apprehended one Mubashir Bhat S/O Farooq Ahmed Bhat R/O Sazan Doda who was apart of the same module and had been tasked by the handlers from across to visit Jammu and collect a consignment of hawla money for further use by the terrorists and their supporters in developing terror activities.
During the search of the person, one Bag containing 1.5 lakh Rupees was recovered which was concealed in a tiff in box. During preliminary questioning, he revealed that the money was sent by a person namely Haroon who was self styled commander of LeT from Pakistan to be delivered to the terrorists through their over ground workers in Doda.
In this connection a case has been registered in Peer Mitha Police Station under section 17, 18, 20,21, 38 and 40 of UAP Act 1967 and further investigation of the case is in going on to unearth it’s linkages, modus operandi, etc.
