Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was closed at 3:30 pm at Shalgari Banihal due to landslide, However, within hour, at 4:30 pm, traffic was successfully restored. 

The unexpected landslide was caused by the incessant heavy rains in the region, dislodging rocks and debris onto the highway, creating a significant roadblock. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties, but it led to a major disruption in the flow of traffic.

In response to the crisis, Authorities swung into action promptly. Their tireless efforts were instrumental in the rapid clearance of debris, ensuring the safety of commuters.

As of 4:30 pm, the Jammu-Srinagar NH-44 is once again open for travel, providing a sigh of relief for those stranded along the highway. Commuters are advised to exercise caution and patience as traffic may remain congested while vehicles start moving again.
