Continuing *JKP's #WarOnDrugs* offensive to contain the spread of narcotic drugs & psychotropic substances, Udhampur police under the supervision of *Sh. Rajiv Pandey, IPS SSP Udhampur recovered 125 gms of contraband substance CHITTA* from 02 narcotic smugglers at Flata chowk, NHW, Udhampur.
Giving details SSP said; during checking of vehicles at Phalata, a police party of PS Rehambal led by Insp. Ajay Bhat, SHO PS Rehambal under the supervision of Sh. Rohit Chadgal, DySP Hqrs. Udhampur and Sh. Rajinder Singh Katoch Addl.SP Udhampur near Flata Chowk, NHW, Udhampur for checking of vehicles, stopped one vehicle Maruti Swift bearing registration no. DL8CW 0918 for thorough search. During search of said vehicle, 125 grms of heroine (chitta) was recovered from the possession of 02 narcotic smugglers. The identity of these narcotic smugglers was established as :
*1.Riyaz Ahmed S/O Abdullah Bhat R/O Dodla Bhoond, District Kathua A/P Udhampur*
*2)Sohail Ahmed S/O Ab. Rashid R/O Sopore, District Baramulla*
In this connection, a case FIR no.74/2019 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS act stands registered in PS Rehambal and further investigation of the case is taken up.
