Jammu and Kashmir Police is best force to fight terrorism as no one knows the topography & demography as we do, this was stated by Director General of Police J&K Sh. R R Swain while addressing the darbar of officers and jawans at District Police Line Rajouri.
The DGP J&K was on a day-long visit to border district Rajouri where he interacted with the jurisdictional DySPs & SHOs of district Rajouri and Poonch. He also chaired meeting of officers from Army, CRPF, BSF and sister agencies besides range & district Police officers.
During the meeting with the officers of different forces besides sister agencies, all officers agreed upon more actions against terrorism and their supporters.
Officers agreed upon clean and green operations while taking due care about the problems being faced by the citizens of the border districts.
Revisiting and rejuvenating Border Police Posts with the support and synergy of other forces was also discussed.Measures for strengthening the Intelligence & Border Security Grids were also discussed in the meeting.
During interaction with jurisdictional DySsP & SHOs of twin border districts Rajouri & Poonch, DGP listened to views of all officers.Detailed discussions were held to improve the People friendly policing and reaching to them in times of their need.
DGP emphasized upon
officers to work with dedication and not to be afraid of making mistakes as those who run do fall at times. He impressed upon them to develop a mechanism wherein the bond between people and police gets stronger. Stress was laid on for identification of terror ecosystem besides identification of forward & backward linkages in NDPS Cases and strict action under law against each of them should be ensured, that would be possible only with the deep rooted investigation. Officers were directed by the Director General of Police to ensure zero tolerance on terror, narcotics bovine smuggling and corruption.
Addressing the darbar of Police personnel, the DGP stressed upon personnel to work with honesty and full dedication adding that there is no need to be afraid of anyone for doing lawful duty. Speaking about the relation between senior and junior officers of the force, he said besides discipline there should be fairplay between officers & jawans of the force especially between gazetted officers & their subordinates adding that we should look and be equal.
He said looking after the welfare of jawans should be a priority always in the mind of senior officers while jawans must do their duty honestly for earning more repect of our organization and for welfare of the people of the community. Referring to the recent grievance redressal programme at PHQ in Srinagar, the DGP said that many grievances were of families of our own jawans which itself defines that grievance of jawans need to be redressed at the right place in the first instance.
Directing officers to look into the genuine grievances of their jawans, DGP impressed that a situation should not arise that a jawan sends his/her family members for redressal of his/her grievances. Advising jawans not to be self centered, DGP said that I am sure that there is no dearth of spirit among the jawans of our force.DGP said that officers should not hesitate in sanctioning leave for subordinates for important occasions adding that officers must know the honest & dedicated subordinate.
