Thirteen personnel of the Jammu and Kashmir Police have been selected for the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM) on the occasion of Independence Day 2026, in recognition of their distinguished and meritorious service.
According to the official list of Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM), Independence Day–2026, the awardees from Jammu and Kashmir Police include two Superintendents of Police, four Deputy Superintendents of Police, three Inspectors, two Assistant Sub Inspectors, one Sub Inspector and one Constable.
The awardees are.Sandeep Kumar, Superintendent of Police.Amit Gupta, Superintendent of Police.Rajesh Sharma, Deputy Superintendent of Police.Muzaffar Ahmad Shah, Deputy Superintendent of Police.Kuljeet Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police.Sharat Chander Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police.Shamim Ahmed, Inspector.Vikram Singh, Inspector.Bodh Raj, Assistant Sub Inspector.Mumin Ahmad Rather, Inspector.Mushtaq Ahmed, Assistant Sub Inspector.Manzoor Ahmad Gada, Sub Inspector.Ashraf Gull, Constable.
The official document places the Jammu and Kashmir Police awardees at serial numbers 361 to 373 in the national list of recipients of the Medal for Meritorious Service for Independence Day 2026.
The recognition honours the recipients for their meritorious service and places their names among police personnel and officials from across the country selected for the prestigious service medal this year.
The announcement comes ahead of the 79th Independence Day celebrations, with police and security personnel across the country being recognised for their contribution to public service.
