Ayushi Sudan Directs Officials to Prepare DPR and Expedite Further Action
Chandan Datta, Patron of Swami Shraddhanand Gurukul and Maharishi Dayanand Gaushala, Barnehi, met Jammu Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mrs. Ayushi Sudan and submitted a memorandum highlighting key infrastructure requirements at the institutions located in Ward No. 67.
Datta raised concerns over recurring waterlogging during the rainy season, which causes damage to cattle sheds and disrupts Gaushala operations. He requested proper drainage and drain levelling, interlocking tiles on the unpaved approach road, solar streetlights and adequate electricity facilities.
He also urged the Corporation to install children’s swings and establish an open gym under its relevant schemes, noting the absence of a public park in the area. These facilities would benefit Gurukul students and residents of neighbouring localities.
Commissioner Ayushi Sudan listened to the concerns and directed the concerned Joint Commissioner and officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) and expedite the tender process in accordance with applicable rules.
During the meeting, Shri Arun Gupta, President of Arya Samaj, Purani Mandi, was also present. Datta presented the Commissioner with a book on Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, Arya Samaj principles and Vedic Dharma, and invited her to visit the Gurukul.
Sudan expressed her willingness to visit the institution soon, participate in a Havan and interact with the students.
On behalf of the entire Gurukul and Gaushala team, Datta expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for her positive response and support for the proposed development works.
