
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday condemned the killing of two non-local labourers in the recent terror attack in Kulgam and announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 10 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for their next of kin.According to a post shared by the Office of the Chief Minister on X, Omar Abdullah described the attack as a “dastardly act” and expressed deep grief over the loss of innocent lives.

The Chief Minister said the financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh per family from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund would be in addition to the immediate relief of Rs 6 lakh already being provided by the district administration to each bereaved family.
He also extended his condolences to the victims’ families and said the Jammu and Kashmir Government stood firmly with them during this difficult period.
The attack took place in the Kilam area of Kulgam on Friday evening, where militants opened fire on two non-local labourers. Both victims later succumbed to their injuries.
Security forces have launched a major search operation to trace those responsible for the attack.
