Jammu and Kashmir Power Employees and Engineers Coordination Committee (JKPEECC) on Friday called off its indefinite strike after Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) agreed to its major demands during post-midnight negotiations.The employees had launched the strike on Thursday seeking revocation of suspension orders, registration of FIRs in power theft cases and a comprehensive SOP for damaged meters.
An agreement on their nine-point charter was signed around 1.45 am after hours of talks between JKPEECC convenor Sachin Tickoo, JKEEGA president Sanjay Sharma and JPDCL Managing Director Gurpal Singh.
JPDCL revoked suspension orders issued against six employees and kept the related show-cause notices in abeyance.
The management also agreed to authorise officers for filing complaints in power theft cases, frame an SOP for damaged meters within a month and take action against agencies responsible for deficiencies in meter-related works.
The management further assured fast-tracking of DPCs and said action against employees would follow due procedure.
