Poonch, Jammu & Kashmir: Pir Ki Gali, situated in the Pir Panjal Range of Poonch district, has received the season’s first snowfall, covering the higher reaches in a fresh layer of snow.
Following the snowfall, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), through its 79 RCC unit, has launched a snow-clearing operation to clear the affected road stretch and facilitate the movement of general traffic.
The operation is underway along the route connecting Poonch with the Kashmir Valley via Pir Ki Gali, a key mountain pass that serves as an important link between the two regions.
BRO personnel are working to remove accumulated snow from the road and restore safe passage for commuters. The progress of the clearance operation will be crucial for resuming normal traffic movement along this mountainous route.
The first snowfall of the season signals the onset of colder weather in the higher reaches of the Pir Panjal Range. Motorists travelling through the area are advised to remain cautious and follow official traffic advisories until the road is declared safe for general traffic.
