Vice President C P Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah today congratulated the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Team on their first Ranji Trophy triumph and on scripting a new chapter in the region’s sporting history.
In a social media post, Mr. Radhakrishnan said that he had visited Jammu and Kashmir and witnessed the developmental strides underway across the Union Territory in every sector. He added that this historic sporting achievement reflects the growing confidence, talent, and aspirations of this region, which shines today with renewed hope, aspirations and pride.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the historic triumph reflects the remarkable grit, discipline and passion of the team. Calling it a proud moment for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister said that the feat highlights the growing sporting passion and talent. Mr Modi also wished that the triumph inspires many young athletes to dream big and play more.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah said that it is a moment that fills every citizen with immense pride and mirrors the reality that the new changes that have swept Jammu and Kashmir are the new identity of its youth. He added that the mantras of peace, progress, and prosperity are the driving force of the New Jammu and Kashmir.
