Nirmala Sitharaman To Visit Srinagar Today, Likely To Announce Major Economic Package For J&K

Srinagar:Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is arriving in Jammu and Kashmir on a two-day visit to the UT on Monday. This is the first time the finance minister is visiting J&K after the abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of the erstwhile state of J&K into two Union Territories (UT).
According to the officials, the Minister is going to e-Inaugurate various developmental projects including World Bank Funded Jhelum Tawi Flood Recovery Project (JTFRP) executed by Jammu and Kashmir Economic Reconstruction Agency.
The Finance Minister is also expected to interact with various women entrepreneurs who have set up their various income generating units under the Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission.
During her visit, Nirmala Sitharaman is likely to announce major economic packages in the presence of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and top officials of various Banks.
Besides, it is said that she may also announce the adoption of the tourism clusters of the Union Territory to benefit 2000+ enterprises over the next two years.
