A woman and two of her minor children were charred to death in a fire that broke out in a house early Monday in Kisthwar in Jammu and Kashmir.
Identifying the deceased as Nazia Begum and her children Amna Bano, 7, and Rizwan, 4, the police said they were sleeping inside a room when the fire broke out in the Badhat Drabshalla area.
Residents and fire brigade personnel tried to rescue them, but they could not do so because of the intense flames.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. The police have registered a case in connection with the fire.
